AAIP 33rd Annual Meeting

Developing Mind, Body, and Spirit: Focus on Native Adolescent Health

The Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP) will provide thirty-five student scholarship opportunities for undergraduate/graduate students to attend the AAIP 33rd Annual Meeting, July 27th through August 1st, 2004, at the Doubletree Hotel at Warren Place in Tulsa, OK.

The Annual Meeting serves as a national forum for student recruitment into the health professions. Several workshops and sessions are geared toward undergraduate/graduate students to assist them in pursuing a career in the health professions.

The following Funding Agencies along with AAIP have made available thirty-five student scholarship opportunities:

NIDDK - National Institute of Diabetes & Digestive & Kidney Diseases
15 Student Scholarships will be awarded to attend the Annual Meeting. Students must have an interest in bio-medical research in at least one of the above-mentioned diseases. Students will be required to attend a mandatory two-hour workshop by Dr. Lawrence Agodoa during the conference.

Spirit of Eagles - Mayo Clinic (AI/AN Leadership Initiative on Cancer)
20 Student Scholarships will be awarded to attend the Annual Meeting. Students must have an interest in Cancer research. Students will be required to attend a mandatory two-hour workshop by Dr. Judith Kaur during the conference.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

A completed application needs to include the following listed in the box and be received in the AAIP office by MONDAY, JUNE 28th, 2004. Scholarships awarded to students will provide your airfare or mileage reimbursement, lodging at the DoubleTree Hotel, and some meals.

IMPORTANT:

Submit the primary data sheet application and required items as soon as possible. Deadline is Monday June 28, 2004. A total of 35 student scholarships are available. Again, upon selection, AAIP will provide for your flight or mileage, lodging, and some meals. If you have any questions or need additional information, please call:
